How long does the gray blending process take?

The journey to achieving your desired gray blend isn’t always an instant transformation. While social media often shows “instant” results, these can require a full day or even two, often with multiple stylists working on the hair. Instead, we’ll break the process into smaller, manageable sessions, focusing on gradual, beautiful progress. Your first appointment can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours, and we’ll discuss a realistic timeline for your specific goals during the consultation.

Will I need frequent touch-ups with gray blending?

No, gray blending is designed to be a low-maintenance option. However, in the beginning, appointments may need to be scheduled a bit closer together until we reach a more easily maintained stage. After that, you’ll typically come in every 2 to 6 months, depending on the level of blending you want to maintain and your natural grow-out rate.

Is gray blending suitable if I still want some of my natural color to show through?

Absolutely! Gray blending is perfect for clients who want to keep some of their natural color while softening or enhancing their grays. We’ll customize your blend to find a balance that feels natural and authentic.

How much does gray blending cost, and is there flexibility for different budgets?

Initial appointments for gray blending range from $200 to $400, based on the service duration and desired results. These appointments typically take 2 to 4 hours, and I’ll be able to give you a more accurate estimate at the consultation. I’m happy to work within budgets by adjusting the approach if necessary, which we can discuss during your consultation.

What should I expect at my first gray blending appointment?

Your first gray blending appointment will be scheduled at noon on a Friday, giving us ample time to create a custom blend that fits your lifestyle and vision. After this initial visit, you’ll have more flexibility with booking days and times. My full hours are listed on my website, where you can find additional information about scheduling options.

Can I go fully gray with this process if I change my mind?

Yes! Gray blending is flexible, so if you decide over time to embrace a fully gray look, we can gradually adjust your color to ease the transition. And if you decide that gray blending isn’t right for you, we can discuss lower-maintenance options for covering your gray.

Will gray blending damage my hair?

My top priority is maintaining the health and vitality of your hair. If lightening is necessary, I will assess the color history of your hair to determine the best and safest approach. In some cases, lightening may need to be done slowly over time. I will always refuse to perform services that could damage your hair, and we may need to explore other options until your hair is in a healthy state.

How should I care for my hair between gray blending appointments?

Gray blending requires minimal upkeep between appointments. I’ll provide recommendations for any products or routines that will help maintain your color and keep your hair looking its best.

What makes gray blending low-maintenance compared to other color services?

Gray blending is a natural approach that works with your gray, not against it. Unlike full gray coverage, it allows for a softer grow-out, so you won’t feel the need for frequent touch-ups. This approach is ideal for those who want a beautiful, manageable look with fewer salon visits.

What safety measures are you taking due to COVID 19

I am happy to wear a mask if that makes you feel more comfortable. Masks are not required unless you are showing any signs of illness, even if it may not be COVID 19.
